REPROGRAMMING
Yoga, mindful Union with what is occurring in the moment. The opportunity to SEE what originated thoughts and emotions and where thoughts and emotions arise from.
I realize that many thoughts and emotions arise from misguided CORE beliefs. My emotions then reflect these beliefs as they interact with the world in relation/relationships with the world.
This is not profound. It is everyday simple.
As simple as
"They are better at this Asana than me"
or "I am really good at this Asana"
"I did this better yesterday"
Usually either fortifying my sense of self importance / stature / position or down-playing anothers.
As i notice such reactions i feel a longing for something more real and balanced. And so i have found that the practise of Meta, or Self-Reprogramming can be a useful tool to initiate change.
It is planting new seeds among the misguided garden.
A process of Overwriting.
A new beginning.
As an old style panel beater slowly straightens out a car wreck, with heat, small taps and persistence, returning the vehicle to its original shape.
Meta is a reprogramming practise utulising focus repitition and emotion.
I repeat some statements as either a request, or an affirmation.
"May I ……"
or a
"I am ….."
e.g. "May I be Healthy and Well"
or if i feel that this is already real for me
"I am Healthy and Well"
As i say the statement i connect emotionally to it …. feeling the reality of that in my being. Embracing and owning this. Claiming this as a foundation.
I use meta at different times,
entering or exiting meditation practise,
whilst in Asana,
when feeling a little shaky or overwhelmed,
when time is available (supermarket check out queues always a good one)
e.g
I am healthy and well
I am wealthy and free
I am present and aware
I am clear in my purpose
I am safe from inner and outer danger
I am enough
I belong
I am loving and loved
I connect to the feeling of the reality of these statements and begin to embody, resonate and transmit these to those around me.
